Happy Hands

EPC celebrates the ministry of a group of ladies called the Happy Hands. They meet on the fourth Tuesday morning of each month at 9:00 am in Room 4 at Emmanuel. Their projects have included:

·        Rolling bandages for use in the foreign mission fields

·        Making baby quilts for the ABC Quilt Program (quilts for babies born with AIDS or addictions)

·        Making blankets and sacques for babies at John Peter Smith Hospital, Tarrant County’s hospital.

·        Knitting caps for preemies at John Peter Smith Hospital

·        Making clothing for dolls and bears given to children through the Salvation Army’s Christmas program

Currently, the group is beginning a new project of assembling stuffed animals to be given to children in the hospital.  There are jobs for those who sew and those who don’t.  We always have a good time and  hope you will join us.  Check with church office or with Jean Wilson (817-571-9631) for more information on Happy Hands.

Dolls and Bears Are Dressed and Delivered for Christmas 2004

Once again, a group of seamstresses from Emmanuel has beautifully dressed a parade of dolls and bears for the Salvation Army to give to children in need this Christmas.  The bears and dolls were displayed at Emmanuel on Sunday, October 3rd, before being delivered to the Salvation Army.  The women listed below spent a total of 500+ person-hours sewing clothes for 42 dolls and 36 bears.  Many thanks to all of them and to project coordinator, Jean Wilson!

Tailors for this year’s dolls and bears were Shirley Brady, Judy Dalrymple, Barbara Edwards, Dorothea Johnson, Lois Sieverling, Theresa Stocking, Ruth Stutts, Claudine Wagner, Frieda Ward, Jean Wilson, Leah Wyckoff, and Ruth Zavala.
