Natalyn Whitis is Emmanuel's Director of Music. She has her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Master of Music in Conducting from Hardin-Simmons University. She has been serving in the music ministry of the Presbyterian Church since her freshman year of college, when she was hired as a scholarship soloist and assistant choir director. Natalyn is also a public school choir director, currently teaching 7th and 8th grade.
Natalyn feels wonderfully blessed to combine her passion for music, caring for people, and profound love for God in both teaching and ministry. She strives to be an example of God's love in the classroom and brings her teaching skills to the church ensembles. Natalyn loves to help young people and adults grow in musicianship and vocal technique, while gaining a clear sense of their contribution and importance to the ensemble and its effect on the listener, whether in the concert hall or sanctuary. She says that, "Music celebrates life and its Creator, and to be part of that brings us closer to Him."
Natalyn invites you to join one of the Emmanuel ensembles and experience this for yourself. You will also find friendship, laughter, joy, and thoughtfulness that is so precious and fleeting in this fast-paced world we live in. Come; take an hour to be with others who serve God and each other. You'll find it to be the VERY BEST place you can be.
